Mindfulness & Compassion Practice
A FAIMH Member Benefit - You are invited to join us to learn and experience mindfulness practices that may help you reduce stress, increase well-being and strength. Mindfulness is essentially brain training, and a major component of its success in reducing stress is in helping us identify when our stress response is activated and allowing us to choose our response (using tools to calm our bodies and brains) rather than react from habit.
These skills can be very useful right now. This is why we are bringing them to you weekly as a benefit of membership. We value you, and we want you to be well--for yourselves, your families and the children & families you serve.
No experience necessary, all Members are welcome.
This practice time will be flexible, and we understand if there are competing demands on your attention during this time. During the time of guided practice, the group will be muted, so please use this time as you need--take care of yourself, and if you need to stop briefly to take care of others, please do so. We will experience 2-3 practices over the hour, so if you can't make it exactly at 11:00 AM, still feel free to join - we are happy to have you.
This event may meet the following IMH Competencies that support your preparation to earn the Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement:
Competency skill areas: Contemplation, Self-Awareness, Listening (All Categories)
(Note: each applicant determines which experience has helped them meet the required competencies during the Endorsement® application process; FAIMH cannot definitively state that a specific competency will be met because it is based on each individual’s experience during each session.)
