DESCRIPTION: The Relationship is Everything: A Dyadic Approach to Mental
Healthcare This training explores the connection between perinatal mental
health\, infant mental health\, and the caregiver-infant relationship.
Participants will examine how caregiver well-being\, infant development\,
and relationship health influence one another and why a relationship-based
lens is essential when supporting caregivers and infants. The training
introduces a dyadic lens that expands attention beyond the individual
caregiver or infant to include the relationship between them. Participants
will explore how perinatal mental health challenges can affect
interactions with an infant while also considering the strengths\,
connection\, and protective factors within the caregiver-infant
relationship.Through discussion and examples\, participants will consider
how they can bring the baby into their curiosity\, notice the
relationship\, and recognize opportunities to support both the caregiver
and the developing relationship. Learning Objectives By the end of this
training\, participants will be able to: Define infant mental health and
perinatal mental health and describe key concepts within each. Explain how
  caregiver well-being\, infant development\, and the caregiver-infant
relationship influence one another. Describe how a dyadic lens can expand
practice by considering the caregiver\, infant\, and relationship
together. Trainer: Dr. Christine Hughes\, IMH-E&reg\; Christine R.
