Foundational Reflective Learning Collaborative 2026 (Online)

Best practice in serving young children and families includes a workforce who receives ongoing support and opportunities for reflection about both the successes and the challenges encountered in their work.

Reflective supervision/consultation (RSC) is a form of intentional, regularly scheduled professional support that focuses on enhancing the reflective capacity of professionals in order to increase the quality of services to children & families and to support staff wellbeing, job satisfaction, and retention.

Reflective supervision/consultation:

  • supports staff to provide services in ways that support healthy relationships and optimal growth and development of the child

  • encourages staff and family wellbeing, and

  • supports staff through difficult situations they encounter in their work with families.
