We are excited to share an update from The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health: the Florida Infant/Early Childhood Endorsement® is moving to a three-year renewal cycle. This change aims to provide greater flexibility for life events such as family leave, medical leave, or job transitions. To learn more, please review the official memo from the Alliance (attached below).
What You Need to Know:
Renewal Timeline
Anyone Endorsed in 2026 or earlier will renew their Endorsement by December 31, 2027.
Future renewals will occur in 2030, 2033, etc. A complete & paid renewal submission is due by December 31st of each renewal year.
NOTE: FAIMH MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL (a requirement of maintaining Endorsement®) WILL CONTINUE TO BE DUE ANNUALLY BY DECEMBER 31st. We are pleased to share that Membership + Endorsement renewal fees will be combined into one easy annual payment!
Renewal Requirements
While the renewal timeline is changing, the renewal requirements will remain the same, and now may be accumulated over a three-year span.
- Training: 45 hours related to IECMH social-emotional well-being (annual requirement was 15 hours)
- Reflective Supervision/Consultation: 36 hours, required only for Endorsed Reflective Supervisors, and Family Specialist, Mental Health Specialist, and Mentor-Clinical Categories (annual requirement was 12 hours)
- Maintain your FAIMH Membership.
Renewal Process
Endorsed Professionals will confirm that they meet renewal requirements in an attestation. FAIMH will conduct random audits for compliance.
We are committed to ensuring the renewal process remains supportive and accessible for our multidisciplinary IECMH workforce. Thank you for your continued dedication to promoting the well-being of infants, young children, and their families.
