Presents... What Every Child Needs: Understanding Early Adversity and Building Resilience
Description:
This training provides an introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their impact on infants and young children. Participants will explore how early adversity can influence brain development, behavior, and overall well-being, as well as the importance of recognizing signs of stress and trauma in children birth to age five.
The session will introduce the role of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) as protective factors, highlighting how positive relationships, supportive environments, and opportunities for children to thrive can promote resilience and healthy development.
Participants will leave with a greater understanding of the important role they play in creating supportive environments, strengthening relationships, and promoting resilience for infants, young children, and families.

Trainer: Noemi Márquez, LCSW, IMH-E®
Dr. Noemi Marquez, LCSW, IMH-E® has been working with families for almost 25 years, providing psychotherapy for 20 years and professional supervision for over 10 years. She was one of the first 20 persons in Florida to be endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentor. She is the Clinical Director for Counsel & Connect, FAIMH Miami Chapter Chair and Professional Educator. In the last several years Dr. Marquez has been teaching at the university and currently leads the psychology department to Florida National University. Her Specializations include and are not limited to Infant & Early Childhood, Child Welfare, Trauma, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression’s, Neuropsychology, parenting, family systems, and Diversity.

This training will be held online via Zoom.
Zoom link info will be sent to paid registrants several times beginning one week before the training begins.
Certificates & Continuing Education Units
Certificate: Upon successful completion of training or training series, a certificate of completion will be earned to all those who signed in and fully attended.
CEUs:
Continuing education (1.5 hours) will be awarded for each session attended in the What Every Child Needs series for licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors who register with a CE ticket. Continuing education credits are provided by the Florida Association for Infant Mental Health, an approved continuing education provider for the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling (CE Provider #50-30846).

Technology Requirements:
To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, the program relies on online video conferencing, which has minimum requirements to work properly. You will need a desktop or laptop computer with speakers, microphone, and webcam, and a high-speed internet connection. Laptops work best because they come with all the necessary equipment and can easily be moved from room to room in your home or office to find a quiet place.
